Rainwater Management at Palette o’ Green ‘n Red Farm
A crucial step on a permaculture farm is managing water.
Our farm is susceptible to heightened top soil erosion, due to heavy monsoon rains, and our hilly slopes.
Over the years, we have developed a system of swales and channels that attempt to Slow, Spread and Sink stormwater.
We've also created overflow channels that lead into various collection pits - including a borewell recharge system that would replenish groundwater in the future.
